Vestman Mastering FTP System

Client Instructions

No FTP Software is required to use this service!
Access Information
  1. First, call or contact Vestman Mastering for your exclusive Username and Password.
  2. Next, Go to: http://www.vestmanmasteringftp.com {if you already haven’t done so}, and login using the provided username and password.
File Preparation

Before proceeding, prepare your files and computer for easy upload and download.  Also, read FTP preparation info.

  1. You may upload uncompressed WAV or other format audio files and project notes.  Preferably, each file should be no larger than 70MB-80MB.  Do not compress using zip or rar formats!
  2. Create new folder on your desktop and name it 'Vestman'
  3. Create a new folder INSIDE the 'Vestman' folder you just created, and name it 'Uploads'
  4. Copy all your music and track comments files into the
    'Uploads' folder
    5. Note: Create other folders inside the 'Vestman Mastering' folder that will be used for downloading revisions, or your completed project.
  5. If connectivity with your ISP or the server is slow, try again later when the quality of service has improved.  Uploading always takes much longer than downloading due to ISP limitations.
File Upload

Uploading and downloading on this system works much like a Mac or Windows desktop, and is self explanatory.

Mouse function info: Single-click for drop-down menu file options; Double-click to open folder; Right-click not applicable.
  1. Double-click open the 'Projects' folder
  2. Click  ‘Upload’ {on the top menu bar}
  3. Browse to the 'Vestman' -- 'Uploads' folder you created on your desktop and select the files you wish to upload (any acceptable audio format files and comment text files)
  4. It will take time depending upon your connection... take a break and occasionally monitor progress --- Uploading is much slower than downloading due to your internet service provider
  5. Repeat as necessary

    Note: Clients may include track sheets or project notes for the Mastering Engineer.
File Download
  1. Double-click open the appropriate {'Revisions' or 'Finals'} folder, then single-click the file you wish to download
  2. Select ‘Download’ from drop-down menu
  3. Save to your computer
  4. It will take time depending upon your connection, though download is generally much faster than upload due to internet providers... take a break and occasionally monitor progress
  5. Repeat as necessary
Note: You cannot download folders, but you can select multiple files and download zipped, though not recommended.  Compressing and uncompressing files may alter the content of your audio files.
